This Valentine’s Day, the Woodward Opera House invites couples and music lovers alike to enjoy a sweet and romantic evening with the Knox Community Jazz Orchestra, performing a lively program of big-band classics centered on timeless love songs. The dance floor will be open for those inspired to move, while guests enjoy cookies from co-sponsor Birds of a Feather Bake Shop and Boutique along with coffee and tea. Led by founder and Kenyon College music professor Ted Buehrer, the 20-member ensemble will be joined by talented Kenyon student vocalist Benjamin Priestland, featuring favorites such as “My Funny Valentine,” “I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm,” “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes,” “It Had to Be You,” “Fly Me to the Moon,” and “Our Love Is Here to Stay,” all brought to life in the warm, intimate setting of one of Mount Vernon’s most cherished historic venues.
