Transportation is one of the basic necessities in modern life so much so that we can not imagine our life without it. In the past, there was a time when no means of transport was available; people had to go from one place to another on foot. After some time, animals started to be used for transportation in the form of bullock carts, horse ride etc. In modern time, there are many modes of transport such as air, water, road, rail etc.
There is availability of many modes of transport but people choose a particular mode and means for a particular journey depending on various factors such as route, cost, speed and the likes. For instance, if a person has to travel 4 km to go to a particular place, some people may go by car, some may go by bicycle, others may prefer bus or auto-rickshaw for the same. This depends on the affordability of the person going to that time and many other factors.
Road is one of the most used mode of transport and there are various means that are a part of road transport such as car, bus, auto-rickshaw, bicycle and the likes. This mode of transport is used in cases when a person has to travel within the same town. In case, people have to go to a nearby town or city, they usually travel by rail transport. There are categorizations in the trains as well depending on the speed and facilities that are available in that train.
In case people have to travel to far-off places such as from one country to another, then, people use air mode and travel by airplanes or helicopters depending on their affordability.
